About Us
About Our Ministry

Chris and Jeanne have been married since 2005 and spreading God's
love to the Marines at Camp Pendleton since 2006.    Here is a letter
from Jeanne about their work here at LEAVES.

Dear Friends,

It has been an exciting couple of years here as the Panossian
home has transformed into an escape for our Heroes, and as we have
learned to more and more effectively share the love we find in Jesus with
the Marines of Camp Pendleton.

You can find more about our programs on the rest of the site,
but I would like to talk here a little more about why we do things the way
we do.  We disciple Marines using the natural pattern of a family.  The
success of this can be seen in the family names the Marines use to refer
to us; I am called "Aunt", "Auntie", "Sister", even sometimes "Mom".  The
Marines treat our home as one would a family home (it is a running joke
to catch one of them referring to the Panossian home using  "our house"
or other possessive terms).  This turns the usually impenetrable
emotional walls into a two way window,  with us looking into the lives of
our Heroes, showing how we can best help them, and our Heroes
looking into the best possible witness for our God, a Christian family life.
We believe that sharing all the parts of our life like this has the ability to
reach people who would never darken the doors of a Church.  All of our
programs are designed to do two things, to show God's love in an
extraordinary manner and provide informal, comfortable places for our
Heroes to talk to us.

God has blessed us and our ministry over and over through
the years.  But I would rather you hear that directly from the Heroes that
we have helped.  Please don't forget to visit the "From Our Heroes" page
to hear the story from their side.

God Bless,

                     Mrs. Jeanne Panossian
